Program Description

Sanford Health is making a global investment in the health and well-being of children by building specially designed pediatric clinics, which we refer to as Castles of Care, both in the United States and internationally. Through these clinics, millions of children will receive fundamental healthcare services where they otherwise would go without.

Sanford Health seeks individuals and partner organizations that share our vision to help improve the health of children and young families. Our partners support the development of a Castle of Care in their communities, or in an area where these essential services are insufficient. By matching Sanford’s commitment of expertise, management resources, and operating capital with the provision of property and construction capital, our partners improve the health of generations of children.

In areas of the United States and in other developed nations, Sanford Children’s Clinics provide pediatric care by engaging a proven model of sustainable outpatient, community-specific care. Outside of our six-state primary market, Sanford’s current and future Children’s Clinics include Duncan, Oklahoma; Oceanside, California; Klamath Falls, Oregon; Dublin, Ireland; the Baja area of Mexico; and Karmiel, Israel.

Sanford Children’s Clinics represent a collaboration of Sanford resources and local community stakeholders. In order to gauge community commitment and allow sustainability, Sanford seeks local or supporting contributions in two respects: the no-cost procurement of land for development and the cost of clinic construction (approximately $1.5 to $3 million for domestic Sanford Children’s Clinic locations). This philanthropic support is provided by individuals, family foundations, community and civic organizations, governments and non-governmental organizations, and other funding institutions.
