Hyperbaric Physician

Hyperbaric physicians are medical doctors who specialize in hyperbaric medicine, which uses hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy as a treatment for conditions such as decompression illness and carbon monoxide poisoning.

The word hyperbaric means making or using a higher pressure—of oxygen, for example—than is normally found in the air around us.

Hyperbaric physicians can be certified through the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine.
