Philosophy of Care

As the only fellowship trained specialist in the region, Dr. Munson is dedicated to the comprehensive and compassionate care of children suffering from conditions of the ear, nose, and throat (otolaryngology). This includes management of ear conditions, chronic sinusitis and allergies, pediatric sleep apnea, head and neck masses, and disorders of the airway (breathing and swallowing). Additionally, Dr. Munson specializes in the care of children with vascular birthmarks and cleft lip and palate.

Unique Medical Experience and Research

Dr. Munson has authored two book chapters and published over 10 articles in the scientific literature. He has presented nationally and internationally on topics specific to ear, nose, and throat disorders of children. His research interests include treatment outcomes for hemangiomas (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20112413), cleft lip/palate, and understanding the mechanisms of laryngomalacia. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.

Hobbies and Personal Interests

Dr. Munson is happily married with four wonderful children. He is a native of Sioux Falls. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading the bible, and playing soccer/basketball.
