Summer of Excellence Program

Summer E 2009

Sanford Health is a network of more than 100 healthcare facilities working together to provide the best healthcare for communities in South Dakota, Western Minnesota, Northwestern Iowa and Nebraska. The largest facility in the system, Sanford USD Medical Center is a tertiary hospital with Center of Excellence in Heart, Trauma, Neuroscience, Orthopedics, Women's and Children's Services.

We believe all nurses are responsible for achieving quality outcomes for the client, the organization and the profession. Summer of Excellence is provided to assure quality outcomes while easing the transition into the nursing profession.

Summer E will offer selected nursing students a chance to interact in direct patient care with an assigned one-on-one RN preceptor. To participate in Summer E, you must be currently enrolled and within one year of graduating from an accredited nursing program and meet Sanford Health job-related health requirements.

Participants in the Summer E program are considered Sanford employees and will be paid an hourly wage with differentials for night and weekend shifts.
