Our Neonatal Follow-up Clinic at Sanford Children’s Specialty Clinic is part of our comprehensive care provided to premature infants. During the child’s initial visit to the clinic, a history and physical are conducted by one of our Fellowship Trained and Board Certified Neonatologists: Akram Khan, MD, David Munson, MD, Joan Nold, MD and Suzanne Reuter, MD.

There is also screening and testing performed at the clinic to check the development of each child, as premature infants can be delayed in their motor skills and physical strengths. Children are routinely screened from birth to two years of age. When appropriate, follow up tests such as hearing screenings and ultrasounds are performed to monitor developmental progress Based on the screening results, our certified therapists are able to provide families with instructions and a list of resources in the community that would be of assistance to them.
