David A. Pearce, PhD has been selected as Director of the Sanford Children's Health Research Center (SCHRC) in Sioux Falls. The Sanford Children’s Health Research Center has two campuses, with a site in Sioux Falls, SD and one in La Jolla, CA.   Fred Levine, MD, PhD is Director for the La Jolla site located within the Burnham Institute for Medical Research.

A gift of $20 million from Mr. Denny Sanford serves as the foundation for the SCHRC and collaboration with the Burnham Institute for Medical Research headquartered in La Jolla, CA. This collaboration combines world-class scientific talent with state-of-the art technology to conquer childhood diseases. The two locations are in the process of establishing the an integrated, world class, academic pediatric research network.
