Specialized Staff A professional training program for staff helps ensure that Sanford Children’s Camp Conquer will meet the special needs of children with physical disabilities. Supervisors take the utmost precautions to provide activities which are safe as well as adventurous. Swimming is supervised by qualified lifeguards. Community volunteers work with the day camp staff.
Eligibility Sanford Children’s Camp Conquer is for boys and girls, ages 5 – 14, who have a physical disability. Campers with such disabilities as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, paraplegia or disabling injuries are eligible. Individuals with allergies, heart conditions or other special problems are considered on an individual basis. A physician’s statement describing the precautions and limitations for the child’s safety is required. Cost Sanford Children’s Camp Conquer receives support from individuals, businesses and groups to support program costs. The fee for Day Camp is $200. Camp scholarships are available to children in our area through the Children’s Miracle Network.
A Step Toward Residential Camping Camp Conquer is an excellent way to prepare for a residential camp experience.
