United Way Success By Six
The Success by Six Hospital-Based Intervention Project is a partnership between the Sioux Empire United Way and Sanford Children’s CHILD Services. This project consists of three major programs:

Objectives:Provide parents, child care providers and early learning teachers an opportunity to learn about children’s temperament and its impact on the adult/child relationship.

This SectionTemperament Program
Recognizing that effective parenting is not economically determined, the Temperament Project was developed to support parents at all economic levels. The Temperament Project was adopted as a means of assisting parents to develop an understanding of each child's individual temperament as well as assisting parents learn specific skills to help interact with the child according to his/her temperament.
Through efforts of this program, the objectives are to:
- Increase knowledge of temperament.
- Decrease frustration with child behavior management.
- Increase insight and tolerance of child’s day to day reactions to their environment.
For Parents
The Temperament Program reaches OB families during hospitalization as well as families in the Sioux Empire United Way community at their workplace, via their child’s child care facility or through local school facilities.
