Monthly Parenting Guides

The parenting guides are regularly sent to parents of children up to 36 months old that give birth at Sanford Hospital. These guides contain age-appropriate information that helps bring an awareness of positive parenting practices.

Through efforts of this program, the objectives are to:

    1. Increase parental access to helpful parenting information relevant to child’s age
    2. Increase parent awareness of positive parenting practices that they will put to use.

Parents who have delivered at Sanford USD Medical Center and/or had a baby in NICU receive a One Month Parenting Guide during their hospital stay. Ongoing parenting guides are mailed out at regular intervals until their child is 3 years old.
