Managers - Directors - Leaders

Professionals in the field of childcare focus not only on providing a service to children and families, but also on the development o leadership and management skills.  CHILD Services offers trainings that specifically address the day to day responsibilities of childcare professionals in this position.

These classes help participants develop skills in leading staff members to understand the importance of quality childcare, understanding policies and procedures, and creating interpersonal relationships between families and staff in early childhood programs.

 

 Trainings:

  • Training opportunities for licensed or registered childcare providers.
     
  • Class instructors strive to help caregivers obtain information and confidence in one's ability to provide quality care for children.

Technical Assistance:

  • CHILD Staff are available to do an on site observation.  This observation provides the means to develop an action plan to assist child care programs with program improvement efforts.

Management Training/Leadership Certificate & Credential 7/31/08
  The State of South Dakota Division of Child Care Services created the South Dakota Leadership Certificate and Credential Programs to provide child care providers the opportunity to develop and enhance their management and leadership skills.
MDL (Mangers/Directors/Leaders) Classes 7/30/09
  Managers, directors and leaders are all people that can easily get stuck in the ‘middle’, in the middle of staff issues, child issues and parent issues.
