Building Update

The future of Sanford Children's is packed with excitement, building of the region's first dedicated, comprehensive children's hospital!

As the first building phase of the new Sanford Children’s Hospital, the Boekelheide Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) opened on June 20, 2006. Ground breaking on phase two of the project was celebrated on May 23, 2007. Thanks to Denny Sanford, the dream of having a dedicated children’s hospital will become a reality in 2009.
