Waiting Room Host/Hostess are a liaison between the nursing unit and patient family/friends. Volunteers answer the phone, transfer calls or take message for family and friends of patients. Your responsibilities will include directing or escorting families or friends to different areas in the hospital or just visiting with the patients visitors while they wait.

Times:
Weekdays: 8:00AM - 4:00PM
Requirements:
Aged 16 and up.

This is an excellent opportunity for volunteers interested in Pediatrics or Child Life. Volunteers will assist Pediatric Staff in playing and monitoring pediatric patients, washing toys, reading to patients, and rocking children. Volunteers will also provide supervision during free play time and occasional assistance with planned playroom activities. Volunteers may also assist in admissions and discharging patients.

Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat: 9:00AM - 8:00PM
Requirements:
Aged 19 and up. Must have a passion for bettering the emotional and developmental needs of children in the hospital.

Are you interested in a career in Radiology? This would be a great opportunity for you. Volunteers assist the radiology staff with transporting patients, cleaning exam rooms and assist staff with clerical duties. These individuals will work closely with charge tech to define duties.

Sanford has four outpatient therapy areas. Volunteers in these areas assist therapists in patient treatment. This may include, but is not limited to escorting patients, cleaning equipment, stocking items/equipment, and light clerical duties.

Volunteers help enhance the patient and family experience on the Medical/Oncology unit. Volunteers may greet patients and family, answer phones, answer call lights, deliver flower to patient rooms, accompanying patients walking, passing waters, and assist in discharge.

Enhance the patient experience by providing a caring presence to patients during transport and assisting the therapist with treatment as directed. Also provide support to staff by providing housekeeping, clerical and restocking supplies as able.
