Sanford Health Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship
Available at our Sioux Falls location only
The Sanford School of Medicine Cardiovascular Fellowship has received official approval from the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education Residency Review Committee (ACGME).
The program will be three years in length and is accredited for two fellows per year, for a total of six fellows. The first Cardiovascular Fellows will begin July 1, 2012.
The Cardiovascular Fellows will receive their education in the newly constructed, state-of-the-art Sanford Heart Hospital located on the campus of Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. This hospital is scheduled to open in March 2012. Key Clinical Faculty of the Cardiovascular Fellowship program are proud to be part of the Sanford Cardiovascular Institute, a progressive, quality-defining cardiovascular group in the region.
The Cardiovascular Fellowship is specifically designed to provide a solid and comprehensive educational experience for future cardiovascular specialists. With this in mind, the fellowship is focused on education rather than service, and holds a very favorable 1:1 faculty-to-fellow ratio for every rotation. The fellows will also work side by side with medical students, internal medicine residents and other health care trainees from around the region, nation and world.
In addition to the solid educational experience, the Cardiovascular Fellows may also take advantage of the exceptional research opportunities at the Sanford Cardiovascular Health Research Center.
