Internship Program Outline
This semester-long program will teach interns the responsibilities required of a marketing professional as well as the culture, mission, vision and values of Sanford.
Rather than pursue a deep dive into one particular area, select a general internship if you wish to experience some of everything. You may experience a mix of all marketing channels, including marketing strategy, web/digital, creative concepting, copywriting, media relations, project tracking, distribution and mailing.
Working in internal communication, students will assist with engaging and inspiring more than 20,000 Sanford employees. Interns will define and execute strategic marketing communication plans; edit and manage all daily employee newsletter; and collaborate with our marketing team and internal cients to ensure timely, accurate communication that helps build the Sanford Health Brand.
A market research intern will provide market data expertise through comprehensive information gathering and analysis of primary and secondary research. That research will identify implications, risks, conclusions, and recommendations needed for the development of effective and measurable marketing strategies. The intelligence you gather from our research will support strategic development personnel and Sanford management.
An Event Experience intern assists with project planning and logistics for Sanford events and meetings. From researching unique tactics and event components, to helping with all aspects of coordination, execution, set-up, etc. of larger scale corporate events as well as smaller events. You will be involved in all facets of what it takes to execute a world-class event at Sanford.
A Web internship provides experiences in writing Web content, learning maintenance functions, creating online birth announcements (Newborns), conducting Web site research and participating in service area projects for the Web. The Internship provides a basic understanding of Web site architecture and the various strategies used in Web development.
This channel works as the gateway between news media and Sanford staff and patients. Interns get experience in writing news releases and fact sheets, assisting with news conferences and learning to distinguish the benefits of different media tactics. They will also gain knowledge of best practices when working with the news media.
An internship in graphic design with the marketing creative team would allow you the opportunity to be involved in the process of creating communication materials for a large and diverse corporation. From research and concepting to execution of design, you will take part in what is needed to develop advertising campaigns and collateral materials that successfully reach target audiences, both internally and in the public.
