Executive Health

At Sanford USD Medical Center, we understand what it takes to be an executive, and we are sensitive to the constraints by which executives live and work. With this in mind, we have developed an executive health program designed specifically for those with a fast-paced schedule. Attention to health and wellness is an important part of everyone's life. However, busy executives oftentimes put off these considerations because of more pressing demands on their time. The Sanford Clinic – Executive Health Center has an established program that helps assist individuals attend to these essential matters. The complete physical examination, along with numerous screenings and vital tests, can be accomplished within one business day and at one location. Personalized physical evaluations Pre-scheduled tests for efficiency In-depth same day consultation with physician A Unique Experience Each appointment is as unique as the individual scheduled for the physical. Sanford Clinic – Executive Health Center offers a comprehensive health assessment based upon your individual needs. You will interact with the physician throughout the day and will have a comprehensive follow-up conference with your physician upon the completion of the exam. You will also have access to leading specialists; a lifestyle assessment to identify possible risk and stress factors that could lead to future health problems; and preventative screenings for early detection of disease. Making an Appointment To schedule an appointment at Sanford Clinic – Executive Health Center, please call 605-328-7090. To ensure seamless delivery of care, it is recommended that appointments are scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance. Once an appointment is scheduled, you will receive a letter of confirmation detailing your appointment, as well as forms that need to be completed and returned to the Executive Health Center office. The forms reference your lifestyle, personal health history, and family health history; they assist the physician and nurse support staff plan your schedule for the day of the physical. The Day of Your Physical Upon your arrival at Sanford USD Medical Center, you will be met by our Executive Health Coordinator and escorted to the private executive suite. The registration process will be finalized, and the nurse will explain the day’s itinerary to you. The discussion will include an explanation of the scheduled tests, exams and consultations. Any questions you may have about the schedule or the different tests and exams can be discussed at this time. Your actual comprehensive physical will then begin with a nursing assessment, followed by the initial meeting with the physician. After you and the physician review your medical history, a complete physical exam is performed. At this time, a determination is made as to whether any additional testing should be done. The rest of the morning and much of the afternoon is filled with associated tests and consultative visits. A culmination conference with the physician will round out your day at EHC. The physician will discuss the results of the tests with you and make recommendations for follow-up health care. Continuing wellness recommendations, designed for your individual lifestyle, will also be stressed. Following the day of your physical, a letter and a detailed report, along with copies of all test results, are sent to you. With your approval, a copy is also sent to your primary physician. Apparel A windsuit will be provided for your comfort and convenience and will be yours to keep after the exam. Please bring a T-shirt and a pair of tennis shoes with you.
