Educational Materials

In addition to quality improvement activities, Sanford Health Plan also provides various preventive health and educational activities and materials. The Member Messenger is mailed to all Health Plan members four times a year.

Each issue is designed to offer wellness tips, disease management information and educational seminars to promote healthier living. The Plan also sends Birthday Card reminders to women regarding annual PAP tests, men for annual Prostate exams, and Welcome New Baby Cards for parents to know and document the recommended immunizations for their newborn infant. Preventive Health Guidelines are given to all new members of the Plan as well as published annually in the Member Messenger.

  • Cholesterol
  • Keeping your Heart Healthy
  • Tobacco Cessation 
There are also Disease Management Programs available to members newly diagnosed with Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension, Congestive Heart Failure and Healthy Pregnancy.
