2009 Radiothon Helped Raise OVER $180,000!

Teamed Up to
Raise Funds for
 Children Battling Cancer

During the 2nd Annual Results Radio Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon March 25-27 2009, hosts from MIX 97.3, KIKN Country 100.5, and B102.7 joined forces to raise more than $180,000!

The Results Radio hosts were on the air for three days, broadcasting live from the new Sanford Children’s Castle of Care in Sioux Falls.

In conjunction with the Result Radio Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon, Wiggin’ Out for Kids – It’s No Laughing Matter  raised $11,380. This program allows individuals, businesses, and schools to assist in raising funds and awareness for Cure Kids Cancer. While this is a fun program, it is done for serious reasons – to remind others that children are battling cancer, losing their hair and facing a very scary illness.

How to raise your “Wiggin’ Out for Kids” funds:

• Create individual website via Wiggin’ Out for Kids – It’s No Laughing Matter webpage to do online fundraising
• Use your collection bag in your kit to collect funds in person
• Dress down at work or school in honor of kids battling cancer – while we encourage you to wear a wig, hat, or bandanna, it is not mandatory to participate in the program (we do ask that participants pay at least $1 for their dress down day)
• A combination of all of the above!

The mission of Cure Kids Cancer is to help children’s cancer centers, like the one at Sanford Children’s, find life-saving treatments and eventually cures for children’s cancer by raising funds and awareness. Sanford Children’s Hospital is one of more than 170 Cure Kids Cancer children’s hospitals across the United States and serves as South Dakota’s only member in the National Cancer Institute sponsored Children’s Oncology Group (COG). Sanford Children’s Hospital is the region's largest Pediatric Cancer and Hematology Center.
